Participated in the AK Mega Minicon over the weekend. It’s the 1st show I attended post covid and judging by the turnout, many folks were eager to display their works completed during the covid period.
It was a great weekend of reconnecting with old friends and making new ones. Joined a group of avid automobile modellers and from the conversations came an opportunity to collaborate on a joint project. There were a great many submissions, particularly in SciFi/Fantasy figures as well as SciFi. The other categories were well represented but it was evident that the former 2 are gaining traction with younger modellers.
Never expected to pick up the Master’s Choice and People’s choice awards for my maiden entry in SciFi mecha. Perhaps coming from a figure painting background brought about a different style of painting that caught the eye of the judges and fellow mecha modellers.
All in it was a great weekend and hopefully find the time to complete the next Ma.K for the Ma.K meetup in October.
